Spotlight on Tom Binns
Tom Binns is one of my favorite jewelry designers. I admire him as a designer because he gives his customers variety. His collections consist of many pieces rather than just 10 or less. He graduated from Middlesex Polytechnic School in 1981 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in jewelry design. In 2006, he won a CFDA award. Currently, he is working on a collaboration with Disney Couture which is set to debut in spring 2010 (Note: for more information on this see the video posted below of a performance at MAGIC trade show). Binns believes that anything is possible and this message clearly radiates from his jewelry. Binns is also admirable because he recycles the old. For example, he often incorporates vintage stones and sea glass into his collections. This is just another way he proves that anything is possible. The last necklace pictured below is unique becaus it is 18 karat white gold with violence and devastation free diamonds. To purchase visit Net-A-Porter. Images via Tom Binns.
